Velma R. Hart has dedicated her career to nonprofit organizations. During her 25-year career, she has held several key positions in a variety of organizations, including those who serve veterans, medical professionals, and environmental champions.
Her association achievements include becoming an American Society of Association
Executives (ASAE) Fellow, earning her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, and serving as Past Chairman of ASAE. While she has achieved great success throughout her career, her passion and home is in finance, which she considers to be the heart and soul of business, and she has the distinction of being the first Chief Financial Officer to become ASAE Chairman.
Velma’s wealth of experience includes her military service in the US Army Reserves. She is a former Secretarial appointee to the Advisory Committee on Women Veterans for the Department of Veteran Affairs, and is currently a member of the Army Women’s Foundation Planning Committee.
Known for her strategic focus in moving companies and organizations forward in their goals, Velma is an innovative thinker with vision and leadership, which she has brought to various nonprofit boards. Her tenure includes Treasurer for USA Cares, the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, and the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation boards.
In addition to proudly serving her country as well as those who benefit from her work with associations, Velma is also a nationally known speaker and frequent commentator for CNBC and MSNBC.
